    Xbox 360 wireless network adapter

Post by STORMTROOPER729 on Sat Jan 29, 2011 4:56 pm

Since all I have in my TLF room is wireless and have a projected closing date of Feb. 23 on my house, I am tempted to get a xbox 360 wireless network adapter so I can freaking play!!! I know there is two different models out there, the A/B/G network one and the A/B/G & N network. Just asking if anyone uses either of them and pros/cons of them? I know the one with the N network is more expensive but is it worth it?

n model may be overkill depending the current download speed you have with your current wireless. i have the b/g model and have no issues..router is two rooms away..

cabel ftw, its clumbsy but perfect connection.

wireless .. your inet speed doens't really matter when picking wireless adaptor .. you need to pick by looking at the signal your router sends, if it's strong you can get the cheaper one, if it's weak the other one if better

I'm basically in a hotel room for the next month and only have access to wireless right now. I even tried hooking up my modem to the rooms cable, but all I could get was the Internet service providers page for a self install and Im not setting up a account for only a month.

I'm afraid I'm not much help here. I've always used ethernet cables myself, so my experience with wireless adapters is lacking at best.

if you have a laptop that gets wireless great just plug an ethernet cable into it and the xbox then turn on internet connection sharing, I got it working for my xbox on a lil netbook running windows xp. Worked fine but there was a little fiddling around involved in network settings.

    Wireless N all the way

    Post by D divine1 on Mon Jan 31, 2011 3:35 am

Weel i can say that wireless N is the best to go for. I am Cisco Engineer and i ve worked with most of the Wireless standards over the years. I ahve an Wireless Router in my house and i can speak to people while making breakfast, to give a clear picture think of a long hall way with 2 walls (Bathroom and Bedroom)that the wireless signal has to transmit through.Wireless N is the way Forward.
