    Squad captains

Post by Moliat on Sun Jan 30, 2011 9:59 am

The squad captains are the clan members who will automatically assume command of any squad that he/she joins. These squad captains are assigned their rank by the administration, either through recommendation from other members or by direct application.

If you wish to become a squad captain, please post a request below and your petition will be taken into consideration.
Note: Being an admin does not warrant squad captain privileges

    Squad captains:

    • Moliat
    • CrushNZ
    • Illluminator
    • riafomh
    • Kakkura
    • Trigger Hexxed
    • Building517

Responsibilities of being a squad captain
As a squad captain you are expected to explicitly instruct in DFA tactics, especially the DFA core tactcs. Our new members will receive training primarily through squad leadership in public games, so it is your responsibility as squad captains that they receive this training. The DFA veterans will also be expected to help out, but in the end the training of our new members boils down the instructions from the squad captains as they instruct during practical sessions, so make sure you keep this in mind if you are or wish to become a squad captain.

All squad captains should keep in mind that whenever they play with a non-veteran of DFA, he should directly instruct in our core tactics. We need to get the tactical teamplay performance of our new members up to par, and this is the responsibility of our veterans and especially our squad captains to see through. Everyone with this responsibility will be expected to fulfill it.

I would like to become a squad captain in DFA. I know this has been put into consideration and has been set aside for other matters, but I wanted to keep this post here as a memo for when it is available for consideration.
    Thank you,
    Kakkura

I would love to be captain!
But, I don't know the tactics very well yet I think
And, I don't know the members very well yet
And, I don't like others to tell them what to do, as a relativly new member

Kakkura, we'll be keeping an extra close eye on your "performance" then. As for you Blizzard, or Kenny (what do you prefer?), it's taken into account but I think you have a point in having to learn our tactics better. The best way would be stopping screwing around solo in conquest, you dirty dutchman!

I'm fine with helping out new guys with tactics, but I for one know that we have to make sure to balance out how much we instruct directly and passively. If we try shove it down their throats (hehe) two things could happen

#1 We lose because the leadership loses focus
#2 Piss of the new member and put him off of DFA.

I have no intention of training anybody by 'shoving shit down their throat'. Agree with you on that one.

In fact, most of what needs to be learned is covered by a number of topic posts, so if they read that first, then all that really remains is some 'on field' coaching.

Yeah, newbies to tank combat is one thing that gets my frustrated. It's a pity me and moliat couldn't record our tank spree from a few months ago.

That stuff was crazy, but just as we have topics for most of our aspects, I think DentedBullet (I'm pretty sure it was him) wanted to write an instructional topic on tank warfare where both passengers are DFA members. Now we're starting to get the topics we need to instruct people, we just need to make sure we instruct these things and follow up that they are actually done on the field.

Yes, although judging from our astounding winning on the field these days, it seems to be working, through osmosis, people reading the tactics topics, and some good ol' fatherly advice thrown in here and there...

I would love to become a squad captain, but I would like it if someone could have a 1 on 1 conversation about it. I want to know the correct information. I want to learn the tactics, etc.

consideration for Squad Captain. I have thought about it and slept on it and decided its what i want.

I wish to put my name in for consideration.

Thank you sirs and have a good day.

That's because he's not a Squad Captain, yet. Neither is Drunken. Or Noble (although I don't think he's in any great rush, hasn't even officially thrown his hat into the ring). But they're well on their way. Although Drunken needs to 'Show Up' more, if he wants it, do more things like Trigger and Noble.

Sorry That I haven't been able to "Show Up" more often. My gaming schedule has been very spastic lately. School, Writing, Yelling at people on the phone who were supposed to do things (which I love doing) But besides that, I am trying to get a steady schedule. Sorry if I seem like I am not doing my part.

No worries. Real life has a way of doing that. It's all good.

The other guys are overshadowing you some, is all. And that's fine. So you'll be a little slower on the curve, and that's okay. You'll get to it when you can get to it.
