    xbox and PC???

Post by Kaos on Sun Feb 27, 2011 9:54 pm

I was on XBL the other day and some of the other members were mentioning the possibility of picking up BF3 on PC because of the larger game sizes and (most likely PC exclusive) extra vehicles such as fighter jets. Yet some were only picking it up on 360 because they liked the controls and the way things are now.

My side of this is i will for sure be buying the game on both because i just finished building my gaming PC and would love to test it out with BF3 but i know many of my friends who don't have a PC that can handle it and the majority of people i know will be on xbox.

Just wandering if anyone else has the same plans?

and if there will be a way we could try schedule specific play times for those that are in DFA (assuming i'm accepted *fingers crossed*) so that we could have multiple players (for sure) on either system.

Well a couple of weeks ago myself and Degrippa (DFA memeber) were having a conversation about building PC's. I like to have my won built by the end of summer, bcoz of holidays this year it will take that long. I wonder what the minimum requirements will be for Battlefield 3

There is no way in hell I can buy anymore future games for my PC, it just about runs Cod4 MW on low-medium and BF2 on medium. So the XBOX 360 is my ONLY Platform and it's four years old and the Disc tray sounds a little off, I give my XBOX 360 half a year to 1 year more to live lolol.

It depends on what I'm bringing with me to university. I might invest into a super-laptop and get BF3 for the PC, but it all depends on how the situation works out.

Edit: One thing is certain though, if DFA members have BF3 both on PC and Xbox, we'll be a multi-platform BF clan Very Happy

Its probably cheaper to build a gaming PC and a normal laptop than one for gaming. :P

My goal is to have it for pc! Smile

Erm, xbox won't have jets and stuff?
    one of the reasons of getting it on the xbox are;
    - no lame ass hackers
    - no OMG I NEED TO WIN THE LOTTERY TO GET A PC THAT CAN HANDLE IT

Building a PC is cheaper than buying.

    Also,

    1.Bigger servers
    2.Download free games
3.Dedicated servers (we could have a DFA server)
    4.No paying for xbox live
5.Easier chat systems allowing more tactical discussion with more people. without chaos.
    6.Better aiming with a mouse! <3

So worth getting a PC Very Happy

But you can spread it through the cost of an entire clan rather than every individual having to pay to play. Rather we are paying to enhance our gaming experience. Smile

Isn't that what we're doing by paying for Xbox Live?

Perhaps I should have said to "enhance our online gaming experience."

On xbox we pay just to play any game online. For PC you don't have that kind of cost but you can choose to pay for a dedicated server which means you control the rules and who plays on it. Allowing for more organized clan matches and so on.

its not that bad, i mean i have a little advantage working at best buy (got an i7 and motherboard for 200$) but you can build a good computer for around 600 - 800$ and you can upgrade an already owned computer for less than that.

Besides, here in the Netherlands you can get an Alienware CPU for 1000euro that's twice as good as a costombuild CPU for the same money

I'm getting it for both because I'm just that kewl XD
I'll probably have to invest in a new graphics card though, as my 9800GTX+ is getting to be on the more medium end of the spectrum now, sadly I'm having trouble finding a feasible replacement for it. Anywho, I dont think I would be able to play BF3 without 64 player matches, it just seems sacrilegious.

I have had alook at ths Gaming desktop,i looked at each induvidual part, and i found that the $3000 which when converted to British pounds is £1,837. Now if i were to build this computer with the same components the total price would be £947.

I would suggest buying each part as you go on,and save some SERIOUS CASH,becasue £1000 is quite alot to pay someone to slot in computer parts, install windows 7 and install drivers. Wink

I gave up on PC gaming awhile ago. Just too much damn money. Even if I had $3000 laying around for a top end model, or even 1000 for that matter, Its like 'Hmmm....I can either buy a computer.....OR I can buy new golf clubs, get surround sound, get a new Xbox, and get the girlfriend some flowers. Oh, and pay $60 for the same game to go with my new xbox and surround sound.'

    Just not worth it.

i know your pain. the 1st computer i had was custom made wonderful machine, but when there were problems i had to phone the guys who made it to fix those problems, which wasnt CHEAP, so i decided from that moment (9 years ago) i learned how to make my own and trouble shoot computers.
