I've been talking about reaching this point of teamwork for quite a while now. The DFA members who joined in the period March - June 2010 had played together so much, and had so many CSM practice matches, that when we played, our teamwork was excellent and we were very well coordinated, but we could still use the chatter for purely casual purposes.

We're hoping to achieve that level with all our members through CSM practice matches.

I think it is definitely something to strive for.

Heres the thing though, with so many new people coming in, at what point do you look at your admins and vetrans who are having to teach and reteach
the newer members and trialists, and tell them they get a break? You will never get perfection in one aspect while trying to maintain a hundred others.

What im saying is: You have had players ask if you could stop/ slow down recruiting. They are not asking that for no reason. Its hard to focus on themselves getting better when they are constantly teaching the same thing over and over to new recruits. There has to be a point when you say, "ok lets stop recruiting for the week/month/etc and focus on getting what and who we have to tip top performance, when we have that then we will recruit agian." It gives your vetrans and admins time to focus on themselves and relax a bit.

Hell even the military switches out its drill Sargents every 6 months so they dont get burnt out teaching the same thing over and over for this very reason.

This is just my two cents, but ill follow either way.

    First and formost:
It is incumbant upon the new members to read the 'important' documents which Moliat has linked. (if i wasnt at work, and in a hurry i would put the link here) This is required reading and gives the foundation of what our squad tactics are all about. All trialists who made it into the ranks have proven that they have this foundation and now its time to execute!

It is upon the vets and admins to remind everyone of the basic principles. i.e call out when reloading, say east v west not left v right, tight perimeters, call out when reviving, setting up fixed vs flanking forces...etc. But most important of all- having fun when doing so!

I know that we enter many games and our tactics become 'sloppy' and we tend to run and gun because our opponents lack teamwork skills.

I've actually brought this up under the other admins not long before you posted this.

We all agreed and therefore recruitement is now closed.

Yes but reading about them and actually performing them in the field are two different things.

But yay on the closed recruiting. Boo on the fact my brother was gonna apply today... Sad

Closed recruitment translates to invite-only. He can still file an application provided he lists you as an affiliation with the clan.

Trigger, go to "Clan Matches" and add your squad, ( Squad #6)
You can look at other CSM Squads to look how we did it.

If you set up your squad there, we can see what squads we have, and who's available or not

First you need to sign up for the CSM roster, which you do here. Once that is done, you will be able to post in the CSM tactics discussion, you will be listed on the CSM roster, and you are free to find or create a CSM squad.
