    Double Rax?

Post by SavageNation on Sun Mar 13, 2011 10:31 am

Just kind of curious which you guys prefer? Myself i kind of like to go double rax against wher/pe teams. Also maybe what you think are the pros/cons of this strat. I know there are plenty of forums on gr, but i was trying to see what DFA guys thought. Very Happy

It has its pros and cons. You can and have to be far more aggressive, but you lack the power to overwhelm weapon crew heavy players, as snipers and mortars (especially smoke) is vital for this.

For large, open maps like Duclair the double barracks opening is very viable. For more narrow maps with chokepoints, like McGechaen's War however, you're scrwed without some snipers and mortars. A couple MGs in the bunch cant hurt either, provided they are used actively.

Snipers are the best unit against PE. For dual American vs Wehr/PE teams WSC is essential. Efficient use of snipers means constant MP drain for the PE player and negates his field presence and puts a lot of pressure on the Wehr player to hold ground. MG's are countered by mortars and snipers. Hence a nightmare for the axis team early game.

Of course, WSC units should be supported at all times. And going WSC means a little less capping power, but at the same time able to suppress and hold ground more easily until vehicles hit the ground.

What many higher-level dual Wehrmacht teams will do is have one go piospam, in which case snipers are invaluable. Two snipers can take out an entire squad in a single volley.

It's a gamble going double racks, but if the map allows it and you pull it off, the game will be over quickly.

I was throwing this out there to see what others thought. Myself and the player tried it a couple times with one going quick bars and one going quick m8,its success was map and opponents skill level dependent.

I think this is a good replay of a double rax/jeep start if you have decent micro.Replay link
